Hall Refurbishment
Working to a very tight budget our brief was to address rain noise from the roof, improve the aesthetics and highlight the east window which was the last remaining part of the former St Aidan’s Church building.
The works were undertaken during the summer holiday as the school hall was required for daily use but is a critical part of the circulation route with all traffic passing through it.
We designed an acoustic and thermally insulated plastered ceiling system which overcame the rain noise, improved the thermal performance and removed the industrial looking roof soffit. Complemented with an improved lighting scheme and a warm and bright colour palette which focussed attention on the east window the head teacher, staff and children were delighted with their new hall.
